I got started with Associated Content in March of 2007. I wish I had learned about this site two years ago! But, I'm just glad to have found it now. I have written and published about 175 articles so far, with a total of about $1000 including my page views.
There are many reasons to write for Associated Content. Here are the top ten...
1. Get started with your writing career. I have always wanted to be a writer (as well as a singer and photographer.) I used to write all the time, even as far back as grade school. I had a great teacher, Mrs. Enamait, who gave us prizes for writing our own stories and reading them in front of the class. I wrote as many as I could! I also jumped into poetry in highschool, writing a few here and there. Once out of college, I wrote some songs and some more poems.
But Associated Content gives you the chance to really start your writing career. Your articles are published on the internet for everyone to be able to search for and read. This means that if you apply for other writing jobs, employers can go to your Associated Content site and see what you've written so far!
2. Start building a resume. Each article you write gives you another piece to put into your resume. If you write about travel tips, you'll have experience writing travel articles on your resume, etc.
3. Get out your feelings. If nothing else, writing articles for Associated Content lets you get out your feelings. I always think this is helpful because any feelings that are held in can affect you. They can build up until you explode, or wear you down and cause you to get physically sick (like colds and flu). Getting the feelings out helps you move past them and whatever was bothering you. It's like a chance to vent and get things out in the open. It just makes you feel better.
