United States Senator Hillary Clinton is a major presidential hopeful for the Democratic Party for the 2008 Presidential Election. She seems to be gaining a good lead over her opponents, such as Senator Joe Biden, former Senator John Edwards, and Senator Barack Obama.

Many said she would run in 2004, but it didn't happen. Maybe she was waiting for the right time. Maybe she thought we needed four more years to be able to deal with the idea of a female President. Maybe she had some other strategy.

Well, she waited, and now she is here. Senator Hillary Clinton is running for President in 2008.

1. My strongest argument for voting for Hillary Clinton is Bill Clinton. Hillary will be able to consult with Bill and discuss ideas with him regarding issues in the daily run of the Presidency. Bill Clinton might not have had the most morals of any President, but I think overall he did a good job. This is not to say Hillary couldn't do well on her own without Bill, but she will just have an added advantage.

2. She can hold her own. Hillary can hold her own. She is very charismatic and stands up for herself well. When asked questions during interviews and talk shows, she is always able to look the interviewer directly in the eye and respond in a competent fashion. She also isn't intimidated when asked hard questions.

3. She is a powerful speaker. I think this is an important quality for a president. She is able to make strong, competent presentations at Presidential debates, and come across like she knows what she is talking about. I like the answers she gives for most questions, and I don't feel she is there to bash other candidates or to even dodge issues. I think she really wants us to know what her viewpoints are on different subjects. She is able to get them across well. This will be important because when delivering speeches, she will need to be able to get her point across, and have buy-in from the American public and foreign officials.

Takeaways
  • 2008 Presidential Election
  • Presidential Candidates
  • Democratic platforms
Did You Know?
If we vote Hillary Clinton into the White House in 2008, we will get the advantage of having former President Bill Clinton by her side to give her input and discuss his personal experiences.

I think it would be much better if she tells more of what she is willing to do after she gains the presidency. It should be also about those she is leading and not of what she is and her added advantages.

She is not against gay marriage but she isn't going to do anything about it.

One, are you sure what you see is what you are going to get? Hillary has always had a "far-left" Marxist-style philosophy and tends to believe that she should be the top dog of the ruling elite over the prolitariat. Considering everything she says is spin-tested with focus groups and polling, her views are consistently what is important at the time. She has a vicious temper, brooks no insubordination and takes very little advice. Two, Bill Clinton, although smart and personable, squandered his presidency... and who would want him to burnish his legacy at the expense of the American people? Now perhaps if Sandy "the Burglar" Berger who advises Hillary stole all of the papers... Three, they both hate the military and are weak on defense, both foreign and domestic. Four, the only good thing may be that the American people might get back the items the Clinton's purloined from the White House when they decamped. And five, nobody knows what they might do or say to achieve a phot

The other reason not to vote for Hillary is the US is not a monarchy. Reagen/Bush, Bush, Clinton, Bush. We do not need another Clinton continuing that chain. Even GWB endorses her and anyone that is appalled at the GWB's Big Brother totalitarian type rule, should be very wary of voting her in. She also voted in favor of the Patriot Act; most of them did. That act is the start of the end of democracy. Hillary feels the only way to make change is to gain power which is are main interest in Presidential power. We, the people, do not need rulers, we need those willing to serve and do as we ask, not as they order and dictate.

...A President needs to be able to smell a rat (I know 'the wife is always the last to know' and do not fault her on being fooled by Bill, yet he was a known womanizer long before he became Pres). She also thinks the government needs to lie to the people. Huh? We are the government and enough of this we versus them stuff. Their job is to serve us not make our choices for us, as she has said they must do. (regarding Health Care: they can not make those choices themselves, she said on the subject).

...to use her power and influence to stop the war. Code Pink ladies that petitioned her included wifes, mothers, daughters & sisters of our troops as well as Iraqi wives, mothers, daughters & sisters watching their loved ones being blown to bits for crimes they did not commit. They, like us, have little say on what our government does and are the innocent victims of the illegal war of aggression GWB declared and Hillary voted for. She now admits her vote was based on "faulty intelligence". She claims she was shocked when Bill admitted the truth about Monica...

The top 10 reasons not to vote for Hillary. With her comes Bill as First Man in the White House. A known crook and liar. He not only betrayed the his wife's trust but the US citizens as well. Sad to say, she is as much of a liar and crook as he his. google Hillary & Stan Lee for info on committing major campaign fund fraud and buying judges. #1 reason not to vote for Hillary: the war in Iraq. Females are to be favored due to the qualities of compassion and empathy. She turned a deaf ear on Code Pinkers pleas...

Con't- BUT for the businesses of the country, I will vote for her. She has worked hard to be elected, very organized, intellectual. I don't see any better choice out there.I can't trust Mr. Guliani, been married 3 times ( must have wasted lots of time and had a very unorganized life ), acts and sounds like G. Bush. I can't rely on Thompson, so relaxed, nor on McCain, too old. Unlike Kerry, a war protester, lost 1n 2004 because of the Binladen tape, Mrs. Clinton would still get voters who are hard-liners, voters who fear of terrorism in case of another possible major attack in America. It's all been covered.

Evasive on actual questions? I don't think so, and here is why. The kind of questions which demands straight answers were purposely drafted because the general public, who are mostly simple, want to hear simple answers. Also news network would love to have controversies, scandals for the next day headlines due to mistakes committed by simple answers. Global and national issues are not simple in nature. As of Hillary's current position as a potential future president, she ought not to answer hypothetical questions with simple yes or no. Most of Americans once loved G. Bush because he's simple, believing in God, being humorous, having down-to-earth communication skill...then look what we're into now. We simply can't afford another 'simple' mind like G. Bush to run the country again. Personally I don't feel comfortable with a woman like Hillary who is so smart, and ambitious. I'm also a bit concerned whether a first woman could handle effectively the job in the White House. BUT for the bu

I agree! HEr judgement was wrong in the war as she DID support it we need someone who didn't! and you say Bill can "give her input and discuss his personal experiences" I can hear that conversation - oh baby don't get caught or you will cause us 8 more years under another idiot! People were bullied into voting for Bush the second time so you think these same stupid people will vote for Hillary to get Bill?

It absolutly sickens me to have people think of her as "getting Bill for free" NOBODY would vote for her on her own! She is so evasive on actual questions, givng answers instead to what SHE wants to get out there. LISTEN to her during the debates and just TRY to find her actually answering the questions asked! And shall we bring up her funding? IF bill would have kept his pants zipped, we would not be where we are now - HE is the ONLY reason we are here now. NO republican would have been elected but he let it happen and now you are wanting him rewarded by putting in his wife - who supported the war in the begining and now says she would leave troops there for years!!
