Have you just graduated from high school or college and needing to find a full-time job for the first time? Are you unhappy with your current job and wish to start over in a new career field? Have you spent the last several years at home with your children, and now that they are in school, it's finally time to start working again? If any one of these things apply to you, hopefully this article will help you in your endeavors. Despite what you have probably heard, getting a job is not that difficult. If you are aware of what employers are looking for, and of the proper procedures you must go through in order to obtain the job you're wanting, you will be more confident and come to realize that your goals are attainable.

Everyone needs a resume. Unless you plan to apply at the local Texaco or McDonald's, your potential employers are going to want to see a resume. I know that it can seem intimidating at first, to sit down and type up the "perfect" resume. So start out just by jotting down things like the schools you've attended, tracing back to high school. Were there any awards you received, worth mentioning on this resume? Clubs you were in? Any teams or other extracurricular activities? Make notes of all of these that are applicable. Now, think about previous (or current, in some cases) jobs you have had. As you're listing information, be sure to include the full name of the company, the company's address and phone number, your position/title, and your supervisor's name. Also list some of your responsibilities, especially the ones that you feel will stand out to future employers. Now, the hard part is over! You are ready to organize these things into groups and design your personal resume.
