Having high blood pressure is very serious and shouldnt be taken lightly, but did you know that there are other factors than stress that can cause your blood pressure to go up. We all are aware that obesity, eating too much salt, ethnicity-with blacks and hispanics developing high blood pressure more than whites and asians, stress, overconsumption of alcohol, lack of exercise, and family history are factors for high blood pressure, but are you aware that these other causes arent even mentioned on many of the websites for the medications used to treat high blood pressure. The symptoms below are things you may not even be aware that could be driving up your blood pressure through the roof:

Pain-This is a biggie because uncontrolled pain can drive your blood pressure up to dangerous levels

Insufficient bowel elimination-when you are dealing with severe constipation and fecal impaction that can drive your blood pressure up. You would be surprised how fast one's blood pressure can go down when you have a consistent bowel flora and elimination.

Edema-Fluid retention which can cause swelling in the ankles and lower legs below the knees this is why a lot of blood pressure medications are diuretics to force you to urinate the fluids out.

Bloating-Excessive gas due to clogged bowels or indigestion can raise your blood pressure

Street drugs-some the drugs on the street can cause a surge in blood pressure
