American Gangster Will Be the Movie Event of the Year

On November 2nd, moviegoers will have the chance to take part in the movie event of the year. On this day, Universal Studios will release American Gangster. This is a movie that will feature two of the best actors of our time, Academy Award winners Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. Along with an all-star cast, this is a movie that should be hearing lots of Oscar buzz.

American Gangster is the story of Frank Lucas, a driver for one of Harlem's biggest black crime bosses. When his boss dies, Lucas takes advantage of the opening in power to begin building his own empire. Through hard work and strict buisness ethics, Lucas grows to rule the city's drug trade. He creates a product that is better and more affordable for his customers. Lucas soon becomes a superstar among the city's crime leaders.

In the movie Russell Crowe plays an outcast cop who is close to the streets of Harleem. Richie Roberts, Crowe's character, begans to sense somethng has changed in the city's drug world. He can tell there has been a shift of power. Roberts is like Lucas in one major way. They both have a very unique system of ethics. Being as they are on opposite sides of the law, the story is set up for a huge confrontation. This is a confrontation that only one of them will win.

American Gangster has an amazing cast of up and coming actors. Along Crowe and Washington will be Cuba Gooding Jr. Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor has been making his name know for sometime. Ejiofor has appeared in movies like Inside Man, Slow Burn, Four Brothers and Children of Men. Now he will join forces with Washington and company in this gangser film. The film will also feature John Hawkes, who is known for his work in movies like Miami Vice and Sweet Underground.
