We have five dogs and we face the same issues as every dog or cat owner faces from time to time- our dogs' breaths! Dogs will be dogs and cats will be cats, as the saying goes. One thing in common though, both can have bad breaths. Even though we try to brush their teeth once a day, the bad breath doesn't go away right away.

This is because dogs are known to get their mouths into anything. They catch dirty balls with their mouths when we play catch with them, they pick up anything with their mouths, and a whole lot of things they do with their mouths that I would rather not mention here.

The Petrodex Breath Spray is a breath spray for dogs and cats that helps clean teeth and gums, control offensive bad breath, fight bacteria that causes plaque, and soothes irritated gums. My husband found this product while scanning the aisles at a pet store. He picked up one and decided to give it a try.

We tried it first with our smallest dog- our Maltese. Since he stays indoors and we are more exposed to his breath since he loves to sit on our laps and kisses us a lot. Furthermore, he only eats roasted chicken, so he tends to develop bad breath from eating meat. One spray of the Petrodex Breath Spray and immediately we have experienced good results. Our Maltese dog's breath was fresher, no more trying to cover our noses when he tries to lick our faces. The fresh smell lasts long, for several hours. After feeding or after taking naps, we spray Petrodex Breath Sprayin our Maltese dog's mouthand the breath stays fresher each time.

Since it was a success with our Maltese dog, we used it with our other dogs with similar good results. Using the Petrodex Breath Spray is less time consuming than brushing their teeth every time. We limit the brushing at least once a day, but keep the spray handy all day and use as needed.

The Petrodex Breath Spray comes in a 4fl.OZ. (118 ml.) bottle with the following ingredients:

0.95 % Zinc Gluconate and 0.04% Methyl Salicylate as active ingredients. Other ingredients are: Purified Water, Glycerin, Xylitol, Citric Acid, Flavor, Glucose Oxidase (Aspergillus Niger), Glycine, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Dye, Lysozyme.

I bought this because my dog (a 9 yr old Chihuahua) is having horrible gum problems and his breath is sooooooo horrible. Once I started using the spray, his gums started healing and his breath got better (it doesn't smell like flowers or anything, but it doesn't make you want to pass out anymore anytime he yawns or kisses you!) I would like to think it's not just a coincidence that his gums started healing...I'm more than happy with this product. It saved me a lot on vet bills...and Oscar (the dog) is very happy that people allow him to kiss them now.

I use this too for my dog! Just my oldest one because my littlest one won't let me spray anything into his mouth lol, I just brush his teeth.

We have beagles, who eat anything, dig up everything, and their breath will knock you over. They think they are little puppies, so they want to get close, but that dog breath! Whew! We'll give Petrodex a try.

This sounds like a very useful product! My dog's breath doesn't get too awful bad. He eats a lot of cheese, which is supposed to keep the teeth clean, though I'm sure it's not good for his diet... but the lack of bad breath is well worth it. :) Great review!
