1. Change your beliefs.
Believe you are smarter and you will become smarter. Make notes of when you have good or creative ideas. Give yourself credit for these. Do not brag or act like you are smarter than others. This will not help.
2. Brain exercises.
Do crosswords. Do logic puzzles. Think of new uses for every day items. Do math while driving.

4. Walk.
As stated in an earlier part of this series, exercise helps increase brain power. Walking is low impact and rhythmic. You can listen to books on tape or classical music while walking.
5. Model others.
Find people who are creative. Let them be your examples for things you would like to do. Do not simply copy their actions. Let their actions give you different ideas.

7. Avoid unnecessary arguments.
Arguing just to win an argument is not productive. However, an argument that is more of a debate is productive. This way your brain takes in more information. If do not have to agree with the other side. Yet, you learn the opposition.
8. Laugh.
Laughter releases endorphins that lower stress. Laughter also tends to leave you happy, calm, and open to new ideas. In fact, create jokes. This requires thinking and reasoning into why the jokes would be funny.
9. Play.
Any hand-eye coordination or mental play always helps increase brain power. Other types of play are good exercise. There are a variety of different sports or sport and educational games that can provide both hand-eye coordination and lateral thinking skills along with exercise.
10. Do puzzles.
