Ode to the Asshole
I Wrote This Years Ago (Age 16, I Believe) - I Still Consider it a Nice Read
when those poor souls fish for them, the guy who thinks he's smarter than everyone else. The guy whose constructive criticism isn't in the form of a compliment-the heartless bastard who is blunt/straight-forward/bold and laid-back when he should care, but doesn't. It's the guy who said the movie sucked (because it did). The guy who laughed at the three-legged dog (because its funny). The guy who thinks stupid people are stupid. He's that guy that makes cell phone calls last no more than a minute, the one that remind you smoking causes cancer while you smoke. He's the one who tells you that you smell, or the who one tells you to cut your hair because you look like a woman. The one with biting wit that feeds off of your weakness and emotion. This ode is in honor of the "asshole" that lives his life the way he chooses, but sees no fault in his actions.
I write this ode for the man who lives by logic and not emotion. The guy who winces not when his comments, actions, or beliefs don't fit the ethical likings of the society around him, for the boy who chooses not to raise his fist but speaks daggers, for the guy who tells it like it is. He's the guy everyone knows, the one that never has anything nice to say, the one that's negative and pessimistic, the boy who shuns idealism and always sounds smart, obviously just because he is just trying to sound smart. The worthless piece of shit that the world obviously needs less of, but somehow keeps spawning for every five dozen wonderful angels. I write this for that guy that, god forbid, speaks his mind and says something when he doesn't have something nice to say.
