The Creep Street Haunted Hay Ride will take place on Friday, October 26 and Saturday October 27. The wonderful part of the Creep Street Haunted Hay Ride is that it is truly an event geared for all ages. The early rides take place from six until seven o'clock with hayrides running approximately every fifteen minutes. These rides are geared for the younger children and are simply a pleasant hay ride around the back streets of Barnegat with songs. The tickets for the early rides cost $2.00. Starting at seven o'clock are the scarier rides which cost each Halloween Hay Ride patron $3.00. Here is where the spooky Halloween fun begins!
The host of the Creep Street Haunted Hay Ride scarier rides is a woman dressed as a witch who sits at the helm of the tractor and treats the riders to an assortment of supposed Barnegat ghost stories. Actually a teacher at the middle school and a Barnegat historian, she is a lovely woman who takes her Halloween responsibilities seriously and makes it great fun for the kids.
While riding the scarier ride at the Creep Street Haunted Hay Ride, be sure to keep your eyes pealed! From out of the darkness and the surrounding woods of the roads traveled comes ghosts, vampires and even a masked man with a chainsaw. With moans, rattling chains and the chainsaw wielding maniac making his way slowly to the hayride, the riders enjoy a great Halloween scare. I have it on good authority that the performers of the Creep Street Haunted Hay Ride are volunteers from the local high school who all fight for the opportunity to dress up and give the Barnegat kids a great Halloween scare!
