Free Boston Arts and Family Vacation Events on Columbus Day

Families can enjoy a free day of fun this Columbus Day in Massachusetts. Some local arts establishments are opening their doors with special events, and without charging admission. Free concerts this Columbus Day Monday include performances by Girl Authority.

MassArt Open House/ Opening Our Doors Day

MassArt Open House/Opening Our Doors Day is an event held by the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. On Columbus Day Monday, October 8th, 2007, MassArt will be celebrating the Fenway Cultural District with a free day of events.

Tours of MassArt and the open house runs from 11am until 4pm. For more information about the open house call 617.879.7234.

The free event also includes events at Evans Park Way, next to MassArt. Highlights of the day's events include performances by the Boston Children's Chorus at 10am, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Girl Authority, and much more. All events are free.

Sense-ation Day: Paperpalooza

Families are invited to explore the world of paper arts. The free event include artist demonstrations and hand-son paper art workshop. There will also be family entertainment. Admission to the event is "pay what you can."

MFA Columbus Day Open House

The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is hosting "Columbus Day Open House and Opening Our Doors Day Celebration."

Today the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is waiving their admission fee from 10am until 4:45pm. In addition to exploring the vast collection of fine art or take guided tours of the museum.
