I have written on the Save-A-Lot grocery system many times because they sell inexpensive quality products. Also, I have written on Del Pinos products for the same reason, adding of course, the wonderful taste of what they offer. This article brings back both of these entities. Save-A-Lot offers a couple of additional Del Pinos products that are simply wonderful.
First, is "Del Pinos Spaghetti and Meatballs in Tomato Sauce. This is really good; I mean I think that it has more flavor than some of the name brand canned Italian dishes. It is only 75 cents per can which provides about two healthy servings per can. Each can weighs 14.75 ounces. The serving size is one cup or 250 grams. There are only 280 calories per serving; 100 coming from fat. There are 11 fat grams per serving; five grams coming from fat.
This is can be a complete lunch, and, even a dinner. If you have salad and a piece of bread and butter available, then you really have a pretty nice meal. However, I do have a trick that I've written about before which is to put some chopped dill pickles or olives into the dish, along with black pepper and a little Italian salad dressing. Now it is important to know that I have a pretty eclectic tasting system, but, I think many people will find this little "addition" enjoyable.
You can also get some Italian Bread and some olive oil. Mildly heat the olive oil and cut the Italian bread in slices. Add black pepper to the top of the oil and dip. You will thank me for that idea. This is served in many Italian restaurants.
The cousin product to the spaghetti and meatballs is the same company's Beef Ravioli. It is the same price at 75 cents. The numbers are essentially the same except one cup is 254 grams. Also there are only 240 calories per serving; 70 from fat. There are only eight grams of fat per serving with 3.5 grams coming from fat. I have to admit that the fact that ravioli was easier on the calories surprised me.
Both "Del Pinos Beef Ravioli in Meat Sauce and Dell Pinos Spaghetti and Meatballs in Tomato Sauce" are great products. They can make a meal or they can be a snack. On a weekend, they are the perfect thing to give an active child for lunch.
