Michigan's Fifteenth Annual Canton Fine Arts Exhibit
Fine Arts Photography, a Portrait of a WWII Hero
As I have juried into this show two years in a row, I am excited about participating once again and meeting many fine artists.
I am a fine arts photographer, and have been exhibiting my work for a couple of years. I have worked as a photojournalist for many years, and enjoy capturing a great picture on film. Even though it's the digital age of photography, I still prefer film. I will continue working with film even after I master the digital element.
This year I was informed that my piece titled, "Lawrence" juried into this show. I was happy about that as I want to showcase this World War II hero as much as possible. I believe that capturing the essence of an individual can speak volumes and that sometimes words cannot capture the same thing. Since I am an expert in both, I know that it can be tough to express in writing what is displaying in the art.
What you'll see when you go to the exhibit will be mastery by all types of artists. Since it is an all media show, there will be a nice mix of pieces. That's what so intriguing about entering these types of exhibits, you get to see what other artists create, and therefore, become inspired by what you see there.
The curators say that the quality of work to be exhibited this year is again outstanding, and that they are happy to bring to Canton's community a collection of fine art of this caliber. Additionally, each artist is thanked for participating, which makes it personal to each artist.
