Trials often come into individual's lives that as a result change the course of it. It may be hard to handle and the road ahead just seems impossible to face but it is important not to lose ground. Often times we find ourselves losing the very person we are and become someone else that doesn't really represent us, truly. I've found the perfect recipe to create solace and uplift the spirit back to a more balanced perspective.
The Secret Is Out by Vanessa Bell Armstrong
- A savory collection of inspirational songs she sings to satisfy the hungry heart. The album is packed with songs of hope and redemption. God works through her to create a heart of worship in the listener. She shares the greatest story ever told and tries to fill listener's hearts with encouragement.
Her voice reminds me of the calms of the still water being moved by the winds of tide. Her singing is compassionate and faithful. She belts with control like Aretha Franklin over liberated chords of instrumentation. As Vanessa sings, she makes quick references to the Bible scriptures that move her. Her trills are impressive and she has incredible highs and lows. And when I say lows, I mean Anita Baker and Sarah Vaughn type lows. The secret is in the ingredients.
