There are many resources online and at the library that can help you share about Veterans with your child. A few of the sites I found to be helpful include: VA Kids,DLTK Growing Together, and The Holiday Zone. Some books that might be appropriate for young children include: Veterans Day by Jacqueline S. Cotton and H is for Honor by Devin Schillian, both can purchased on Amazon.com.
Even if you don't have family or friends that serve or have served in the military, we should still teach our children about those that do and give them the honor they deserve. There are many ways you can celebrate Veteran's day with your family as well as teach your children more about Veteran's day. I will give you some ideas on how to decorate, craft projects to make with your child, special snacks you can make and more activities to help you celebrate this special occasion.
