This fun jack o lantern garland is a simple craft for kids that will keep them occupied for quite a while! If you have a group of kids, that would be perfect for making an extra long jack o lantern garland to decorate for Halloween with.

If you want to use your Halloween jack o lantern garland outside, then paint is with some polyurethane and let it dry.

To Make This Jack O lantern Garland for Halloween You Will Need:

Canvas

Heavy Grade Craft Web (fusible)

Orange Paint

Black Paint

Ribbon or string

Scissors

Left over craft material

The first step is to lay out your canvas. Lay your fusible craft web on the back of the canvass and iron the two together to activate the fusible web. Parents will need to do this step for the kids.

This simple step will make your jack o lantern garland sturdy.

Next, You want to lay these on a flat work surface you have covered with newspapers.

Paint the canvas orange. You can also brush the canvas with glue, and then sprinkle on the orange glitter.

You can also use canvas if you can find them.

Once any paint has dried you want to add the face onto the jack o lantern. This can be accomplished with black paint, markers, glitter, felt, construction paper, and even fabric!

Creating the face on your Jack O Lantern garland is a fun time for kids to get creative!

Now, go ahead and cut out each jack o lantern. This step can be done with scissors or pinking sheers.

Now, to join the jack o lanterns together to form the Halloween garland you have quite a few options.

You can hand stitch the pumpkins together on their sides with a needle and thread.

You can also simply tape the pumpkins together to form the garland. Another option is to cut your Halloween garland out as one continual piece.

To do this keep the faces of the pumpkins lined up when you are painting them on the orange canvas. Use a pencil to draw each pumpkin and stem and make sure the edges of the pumpkins are touching. Cut out the Halloween garland as one long piece.

This fun and whimsical Halloween garland is a great window dressing too. To hang the garland on your window you need to fold it in half.
