Throughout the years, I've met many people in chat rooms. Some have been incredibly sweet while others have been intolerantly insane acting. Although I do enjoy the world of chat, I also enjoy my real life. I don't actually feel a need to be accepted or appreciated in the world of chat. Disrespectful chatters can be forever put out of sight and out of mind by a little click of the "x" in the upper right hand corner or using a wonderful ignore command on one program or another. On the other hand, some of those chat world chatters become a part of my real world and become dear friends.

Though I've managed to actually sustain many chat friends for several years, the encounters I've had with the unusual and even rude ones are sometimes much more fun to think about.

Anyone familiar with chat must also be familiar with those that only wish to boot others. "Booters", as I'll refer to them, are forever affecting the rooms in which many people choose to chat. I certainly understand if people choose to boot another from a private room or a public room in which they can't follow some very simple and basic rules. However, booting people simply for the enjoyment of booting them holds no interest for me other than wondering what may possess those people that do it. Of course, the answer to this is a simple one. It's something they can control. How does one end up with such a small amount of control in their life that they must resort to that type of behavior in order to fulfill that need? Booters and the world of chat seem to go hand in hand. I have watched this occur again and again and it doesn't appear to me that there is ever enough people to boot to meet their needs. At some point, the stream of chatters they have to choose from may be extremely large and yet they find no ultimate satisfaction in doing this to one last person. The cycle continues until they become bored or simply lose interest for a moment only to begin again at some later point.

I think I'm the one Peter described, as well as the "What" chatter...
