Halloween should be a fun time for the whole family and Hampton Roads, in Virginia, does a good job of making certain that it is. The cities of Chesapeake, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach offer a wide variety of events to suit the wants and needs of just about anyone.

Those who equate Halloween and fall with hayrides will find the Haunted Hayride right up their alley. The fun event takes participants on a tour of the Village of the Dead and the Field of Screams. Once the hayride is over, participants can stay and enjoy amusement rides or grab some grub courtesy of travelling vendors.

Hayrides are available Wednesday through Sunday between October 5 and October 21, 2007. The fun begins at 7:00 p.m. and concludes by 11:00 p.m. Tickets begin at $20. This event is perfect for children and adults alike. However, an adult must accompany children at all times.

Just for children is the Hunt Club Farm's Halloween Party, October 28, 2007, between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Kids can enjoy a petting farm and take full advantage of all the inflatables. Every child will receive a goodie and candy bag as well as one pumpkin (between three and five pounds) to decorate. A DJ will be on board to deliver the music for those who want to dance and there will be lots of games, raffles and prize drawings.

Kids who wear a costume and bring mom and dad get in free. Parents must remain with their children at all times. Reservations are required. For more information on either Hunt Club event, visit the Hunt Club website at huntclubfarm (.com).

Busch Gardens Williamsburg continues its tradition of Howl-O-Scream every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through October 28th. Guests are invited to visit Never After, the park's newest scare village. Everyone will be exposed to the sinister side of fairytales with Twisted Tales, a new nightmare. Guests can visit the haunted attractions of their desire, enjoy Halloween-themed shows or make time for both.
