Did you know that gratitude can help you find your purpose in life? If you have not maintained your attitude of gratitude, you are probably frustrated, dissatisfied, bored and have a feeling of emptiness. Even if life is not all that bad, you may feel a lack of focus and direction in your life. Switching to a more grateful frame of mind can set off some wonderful changes. It can inspire you to start the journey of discovering what your life's purpose truly is.

Here is how the powerful impact of gratitude works.

1) When you are grateful, you are connected to your real self. Some might call this the spirit or soul. It is the part of you at the deepest level that experiences all that life has to offer. The secret is that the real you is not only who you are in the world, but who you were born to be. Your life comes from this pure core. Deep inside resides the natural joy, love, generosity, compassion, and gratitude. Cultivating and focusing on gratitude (which comes with joy, love, and passion), you change this part of your inner self. This brings feelings of happiness and love and the ability to show these emotions.

Remember this - the real you already knows your purpose in this life. Some people believe life is completely about destiny, while others believe each person makes his or her own path. Wherever your belief lands, the deepest part of the real you knows where to find your joy. The more often you can connect with this part of you, the more you will be drawn to what makes you happy.

2) There are unlimited possibilities that gratitude can awaken within you. Anything you desire is possible. Are you unsure whether the life purpose you know is yours really IS yours? Do you feel like it cannot possibly be and you spend most of your time making excuses not to take action? Taking action is too hard, takes too much time, you don't really have the talent, and so on. Practicing an attitude of gratitude can change all of that. You will feel more positive and able to believe in yourself the more time you spend being grateful. This mind set allows you to believe that even though your path may not be clear, eventually it will be.
