As the holiday gift giving season will begin soon, I wanted to pass on an idea I used for Christmas presents one year for women. I found the idea for this somewhere but I don't remember where. I made them for my mother and sisters for Christmas one year when I was low on funds. It's a sweet treat for woman and eye appealing at the same time. Here's how to make chocolate roses.

You will need:

A bag of Hershey's Kisses

Floral tape

Floral sticks for flowers

Silk leaves

Scissors

Red or pink plastic wrap

Most of the items can be found at craft stores or stores that have a floral craft section. Stores like Hobby Lobby or Michael's are good but you can even find the floral stuff at the craft section of Wal-mart if you shop at that store. I've made the chocolate roses with sticks from my yard for flower stems and leaves from the bushes in front of my house before.

Okay here's what you do:

First you take two of the Hershey's Kisses and place them end to end to form the rose with the base of the kisses touching and the points going up and down outward.

Cover the rose formed from the kisses with the colored plastic wrap over the top. Then wrap the plastic wrap around them from top to bottom and twist together from the end of one kiss to the bottom of the other.

Take the floral tape and connect the rose part to the floral stick by wrapping the tape around the bottom part of the rose where the plastic wrap ended.

Then you will continue to wrap the floral tape down the floral stick. Take the silk leaves and cut the leaves individually away from the arrangement of silk leaves.

As you continue to wrap the floral stick, press the ends of one silk leaves at a time to the floral stick and continue to wrap downward until you've wrapped it completely.

Continue making them until you have 12 for a dozen unless you want to give them a single long stemmed rose.

There you have a sweet floral gift for the lady in your life, or sister, or mother. My mother and sisters enjoyed this sweet treat when I made them for them one year. I hope you find my idea useful and that it inspires many more ideas for you to make for Christmas!

My sister-in-law did this last year and now with your instructions I can "one up her". LOL, just kidding, but I am glad to know how to make the roses.
