Change will always happen. You want to stay in your comfort zone because, well...it's comfortable. You don't have to face the unknown. Almost everyone has a fear of the unknown, that's why most of us prefer to stay right where we are rather than take a chance of transforming our lives. What if it didn't work out? What if you try and nothing happens? If you stop hanging onto your comfortable world you may be amazed at what could happen.

Then there are times when you want to see a change. This sounds like a contradiction to the comfort zone theory. But there does come a time in every life when misery demands a change. If you are unhappy and not satisfied with your life, then you want a transformation. When that happens, the changes seem to come at a crawl. Patience pretty much goes out the window when you want something to change. When you really want or need to change, the transformation can happen. If you are serious about finding a different way to be in the world, here are three "secrets" to transformation that will bring dramatic changes if you implement them into your life.

Change how you think! You create your own reality. Yes, at times success may be just something you trip over, but most of the time how you think predicts the outcome of your plans. It sounds overly simple; however, you can see the truth of this if you just take notice. You have watched people in your life end up in a place that you KNEW they would because of their actions and their inability to think in a different direction. How many times did your parents or teachers tell you that you can do anything if you put your mind to it? It takes practice to keep your thoughts centered on a goal. When negative thoughts creep up that will hold you back, dismiss them and steer your mental voice back to what you want to accomplish. What you say to yourself matters.

Gary: Old sayings get to be old sayings because they have a truth to them. Remember the "dress for success" advice? Well not only will management look at you with more respect, you start treating yourself that way too! Kathy: That is simply a way cool compliment. Thank you!

Back in the 60's I used to listen to a fellow by the name of Earl Nightingale talk about this. He impressed me with the thought "you become what you think about". Whatever is on your mind obsessively is what you most concentrate on either resolving, or bringing to fruition. So, if you want to effect changes, simply start thinking of those changes in a way that incorporates the new you and how you will interact in the new environment. Your mind will automatically generate the actions to make it so. Another way to think about this is that if you act in certain ways, those ways become yours. Example: If you want to be successful, act as if you are already successful. Do the things successful people do in your mind and you will become successful in your mind.
