In University City, St. Louis, Missouri, a boy won the title of homecoming queen. Thats right, he won the title of queen, not king, I didn't mistype it. Generally, when this happens, the person in controversy is trying to make a point. Many times there is a girl who is trying to make a point as an activist, such as a girl trying to get into boy scouts, but it could be anything.

However, have no fear....

According to this article, www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/stlouiscitycounty/story/AF23745D453CEB8886257365000C36B5

The boy did it "just for fun" and "to make his girlfriend laugh." He claims that it was harmless. Although he angered a lot of high school senior girls, surprisingly he won against them by the student body votes. He probably did it for popularity. Controversy always brings publicity and popularity of good and bad nature.

I am relieved that he was not trying to make a point, and it was just in fun. A lot of times, people try to do these things to make a point that usually just turns out to be mute and ridiculous. Thankfully, it wasn't some form of political activism.

The school board thinks that it will teach the kids at the very least that their voting habits actually matter and do affect the outcome of things. This might be true, but Iets be realistic, I don't think they care that much, they probably just voted for him to go against the norm and because it would be funny. I wonder if there will be a more instances like this popping up when they read this or not.
