Why Keith Olbermann Should Avoid Bill O'Reilly Instead of Giving Him Publicity

I'm a big admirer of Keith Olbermann. Alone among the mainstream journalists on TV he has had the guts to say what people like me and Jeff Musall and thousands of others on the internet were saying even back when George W. Bush's poll numbers were above his IQ. But there is a disturbing trend on Olbermann's Countdown show lately. He seems to have misfired in his view of the real problems in America. On a seemingly daily basis Keith Olbermann takes Bill O'Reilly to task for the latest stupid comment has made. Going strictly on the basis of O'Reilly's history of stupid comments, this could last until either Olbermann or Billo dies. I write this article as a message to Keith Olbermann and all those who run anti-O'Reilly web sites to stop giving this mere footnote to history a platform for those who otherwise would not even be aware he exists.

O'Reilly's good friend and fellow brain-damaged Bush apologizer Geraldo Rivera is fond of justifying his shows about those unworthy of television coverage with the analogy of turning on a light to reveal the cockroaches among us. It's a bad analogy that should be forever locked away in Al Capone's vault along with his bottles of moonshine and Geraldo's career. (By the way, I do applaud Mr. Rivera for his nightly shows on CNBC during the O.J. Simpson trial. Well, except for the fact that those shows gave television careers to people like Nancy Grace and Greta Van Susteren.) The fact is that there is an even better way to avoid cockroaches. Don't the turn the lights out until it's time to go to sleep. Avoiding the cockroaches won't make them go away, true, but at least you won't know they're there.

I'm torn...sometimes it is a bit much, but I still laugh, especially when Billo gets "worst person in the world" but then I think he should let it go more, but I am sure it drives ratings, and to a point, pointing out idiocy can help to marginalize it. Oh, and I think you give the combined Billo and Beck monster too much credit.
