Fun Jack-o-lantern Ideas for the Whole Family
Lunch Bag Pumpkin
Materials:
Brown Paper lunch bags, newspaper, green felt and pipe cleaners, orange and black markers
Using the paint, color the paper bags orange, leaving a couple inches at the top brown. When dry, paint on a jack-o-lantern pattern in black. Use the green felt to cut out leaf shapes. Stuff the bags with newspaper and then use half of a pipe cleaner to twist the top together. Then use the leaves to twist it into place. A simple project that can be made into a huge homemade pumpkin patch!
Pumpkin Clickers
Materials:
Glue, construction paper, lots of baby food jar lids
Use the construction paper to cut out a pumpkins, and then glue on cut-out pieces of black paper to make a jack-o-lantern. Next, glue the whole thing onto baby food jar lids, set aside to dry. Small babies and toddlers love them because they click when pressed on in the middle.
Pumpkin and Ghost Jars
Materials:
baby food jars, black marker, glue, white yellow and orange tissue paper, paintbrush, green raffia
First, dilute the white glue to a thin consistency and use a small paint brush to paint glue onto the jar. Tear up tissue paper and glue it to the jar until the whole thing is covered. Let dry, and then use the marker to make a jack-o-lantern face. Tie the raffia around the top to create a stem. A ghost can also be used using white tissue paper. These are wonderful as gifts full of small candy, or even as a small candle holder.
Pumpkin Plate Faces
Materials:
small paper bowls, orange paint(acrylic works best), paintbrush, scissors and pencil, black marker, glue, tape, green ribbon, and different colored construction paper.
