The homey, little town of Mt. Juliet offers its very own Pumpkin Hill for Autumn amusement. A 200 acre working farm the whole year through, Pumpkin Hill becomes a fall foliage dream scape in October. Kids of all ages are thrilled by the authentic hay rides and warm cider they encounter. When the riding is through the destination is clear; a field of pumpkins ripe for the choosing. Admission for hay ride and pumpkin patch is $8.00.
Not to be outdone, Waynesboro, Tennessee holds its own in the field of autumn activities for children. The Pumpkin Harvest Festival is a plethora of autumn awesomeness! The fun starts early with a parade and contest and winds through the day with The Great Pumpkin Contest, music, food and fun then ends with a bang and fireworks to rival Independence Day.
If its late Autumn fun your children are craving then Halloween happiness is just around the corner. Ghouls at Grassmere is the Nashville Zoo's contribution to Halloween hauntings. Their hayride is haunted with delightful ghouls and ghosts and don't forget the animals! Stop at the many treat stations and enjoy the games and harvest Halloween celebrations. The party runs the last week of October and is a popular destination for families and groups.
Tennessee is beautiful any time of the year but the harvest season seems to play to the states particular atmospheric conditions especially well giving the vibrant colors and cool crisp air everyone hopes for. Children have a fantastic start to the holiday season during autumn in Tennessee.
