Lifetime Networks Sponsoring Initiative to Alert the Public

Lifetime Networks has created an initiative to inform the American public about the fact that October is "National Breast Cancer Awareness Month". Lifetime Networks has many celebrities and companies assisting them in this initiative. The initiative was announced in a recent press release from Lifetime Networks. The name of the initiative is "Stop Breast Cancer For Life".

Lifetime Networks will be airing an original movie "Matters of Life and Dating" on October 22nd at 9pm. This movie will feature Ricki Lake as the star in a story about a woman who is returning to the dating environment with help from her family and friends as a breast cancer survivor after her mastectomy. Ricki Lake is not the only celebrity who is joining Lifetime Networks in the "Stop Breast Cancer For Life" initiative.

There are other celebrities ranging from television, music and movies, to NFL football stars. Some of these celebrities include Fran Drescher, Daisy Fuentes, Whoopi Goldberg, Patti Labelle, and of course Ricki Lake. NFL stars Ronda Barber of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jake Delhome of the Carolina Panthers are also participating in the campaign. The NFL will feature a PSA from Fran Drescher at home games for NFL teams on October 7th and 14th to emphasize the importance of the "Stop Breast Cancer For Life" initiative.

This is the 13th anniversary of the campaign. This will be the first year that the initiative has a theme song. Music star Mya will be singing the theme song which is titled "My Bra". Mya's has seen the effects of breast cancer in person, as her mother is a breast cancer survivor.

Lifetime Networks is not the only corporate sponsor of the campaign. There are many other companies participating in the "Stop Breast Cancer For Life" initiative. Some of these companies include Lean Cuisine, Campbell's, Payless Shoes, and Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Real Arcade will contribute $1 for each of the first 50,000 downloads of the Real Arcade program from the Lifetime sponsored website link.

I'm more than willing to support any channel that is supporting breast cancer awareness, every little bit helps... and this movie actually looks like a cute romantic comedy on top of doing something useful.

It is good that they are doing that, but I get so sick of Lifetime because they seem to want to empower women, but at the same time, make them seem too weak. Honestly, the men in my group love me because I do not watch this channel and I am not like all the other women out there.
