TJ's Coffee and Deli on Beale AFB in California - Review

My husband and I recently had lunch at TJ's Coffee and Deli at Beale AFB, California. The cafe is located inside the community centre on base, down the corridor as you first walk in to the left. Neither of us had eaten at TJ's Coffee and Deli before, so we were curious to see what the service and food would be like.

Atmosphere

As soon as we walked through the door, we noticed music playing, and a small selection of people sitting around tables for lunch. It was not busy, which meant we did not have to wait long to be served. We liked the décor; the tables looked like they were made from mosaics and the whole atmosphere seemed very inviting and friendly.

Order

My husband ordered a tuna melt sandwich, which cost $5.95. It contained tomato, red onion, tuna and mayonnaise on lightly toasted bread. I ordered a split pea soup for $2.95. There were three sizes available. I opted for the medium sized bowl of soup. It came with crackers and a pack of Doritos. Our total came to $8.90, but I had a $5 money off coupon, so our balance was just $3.90.

Customer Service

The cashier at the till was very friendly and cheerful. She gave us a moment to decide what we wanted and then she took our order. We then found our seats and waited for our order to be prepared. The food came out about 10 minutes later. Our lunch was piping hot and fresh.

Good Food

The split pea soup was thick, full of vegetables and delicious. I could taste the chunks of ham throughout the soup. My husband said that he liked his tuna melt sandwich. He was only able to eat half of his sandwich, as he was soon full from lunch.
