Nissan North America Posts Best September in History

September was a good month for many car manufacturers in the United States. Nissan North America didn't miss out of the profitable month as they reported their best September in history. The group was led by their Altima line and several Infiniti models. Nissan North America, Inc. announced this information in a recent press release. Nissan North American, Inc. is made up of the Nissan and Infiniti divisions. Their combined 94,269 units sold was a September record for the company.

The sale of those 94,269 units in September was an 11 percent increase for the two divisions combined. The Nissan division saw the stronger month overall as they had a 12.1 percent increase in September 2007 sales when compared with September of 2006. The Nissan division was led by their Altima line. The Altima sedan and hybrid vehicles along with their coupe combined to set a record month for the Altima line with sales in September 2007 being 46.7 higher than September 2006. The Nissan Pathfinder also had a solid month with a 21 percent increase in sales in September 2007 when compared with September 2006.

Infiniti's performance was not quite as strong as the Nissan division. Their increase in sales for September 2007 when compared with September 2006 was only 2.7 percent. The Infiniti division was led by three models in their automotive line. The G Sedan had a record month of September in 2007 with 3,841 units being sold, which is a 24.1 percent increase over the previous September. The G Coupe also had a strong month as it recorded a 2007 September sales total that was 33.5% over the sales for September in 2006. The luxury QX SUV was not left out of the strong month either as it recorded a 32.9 percent increase of last September.

Nissan North America's September showed a very strong month for the company as a whole. Many manufacturers had a strong month in September of 2007, and Nissan was no different being led by the Altima line and several vehicles from the Infiniti division.
