A spin off from the very popular "Grey's Anatomy," ABC's new "Private Practice" from creator Shonda Rhimes, the Golden Globe-winning creator of "Grey's Anatomy," follows Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) from Seattle to the Oceanside Wellness Center in Santa Monica, California.

This show has tremendous potential with great actors like Kate Walsh as Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery, Tim Daly as Dr. Pete Wilder, Audra McDonald as Dr. Naomi Bennett, Paul Adelstein as Dr. Cooper Freedman, KaDee Strickland as Dr. Charlotte King, Chris Lowell as William Dell Parker, with Taye Diggs as Dr. Sam Bennett and Amy Brenneman as Dr. Violet Turner.

The first episode gave you some idea of the show's potential dealing with Addison's adjustment from a world-class teaching hospital to a small private practice, as well as introducing you to the new story lines that are part of this show. The pilot was a little blah, to be honest, but the characters are likable and one's you may want to follow.

The show revolves around the Oceanside Wellness Center where a fertility and hormone specialist (Naomi), internist (Sam), pediatrician (Cooper), psychiatrist (Violet), alternative medicine specialist, blossoming midwife (Dell), and of course a neo-natal specialist (Addison) work together to provide complete health care for their patients, including making house calls.

In the pilot I was disappointed by the "Felicity" scene between Addison and Pete with the whole, "Did you move here because I kissed you." That was a cheap shot and made the pilot a little cheesy. The pilot overall, though, revealed enough about the characters to show that they work well together and the chemistry between them could grow into something to rival "Grey's Anatomy."
