Knott's Berry Farm, the popular Buena Park, California, amusement destination is once again hosting "Knott's Halloween Haunt." According to Knott's Berry Farm's press release, the 35th Knott's Halloween Haunt (the oldest, largest, and longest-running Halloween celebration at a theme park) is offering several new elements for park guests this year. Here is a sampling of some of the newest Haunt attractions.

*Beowulf: Labyrinth into Darkness. This maze is based on the classic poem (and upcoming Paramount Pictures and Shangri-La Entertainment film) in which hero Beowulf finds himself up against a dragon, the terrifying Grendel, and Grendel's mother.

*Black Widow's Cavern is a maze which places guests inside an old mine now occupied by spiders.

*Pyromaniax is a searing maze where guests encounter the monstrous results of a moonshine factory fire. The "lethal" fumes released during the fire turned some people into "murderous mutants."

The Knott's Berry Farm's press release also states that several scare zones will again be featured in this year's "Haunt." These scare zones, which are "fog-filled, face-to-face monster encounters," can be found in various locations of the park and include:

*Silver Bullet Mine Town, where the Silver Bullet Cowboy and other "evil" miner minions wreak terror on park guests.

*Ghost Town is ruled by the "notorious" Sliders, who have a habit of surprising the unsuspecting.

*CarnEVIL features a bona fide freak show and takes place on the Knott's Boardwalk.

Knott's Berry Farm's "Haunt" also has a number of frightfully good shows to watch, including HACKS, Trick or Treat, a dance and improvisation production at the Ghoul Time Theatre; Death of Dr. Cleaver (Bird Cage Theatre); Chipper Lowell Experience (Boardwalk Ballroom); The Rocketz (with the Go-Go Ghoul Dancers, at the Wagon Camp); Festival of Freaks (Gauntlet Theatre); Inferno, a show on the Boardwalk featuring fire dancing, and martial arts. Also Hanging, in the Calico Scare, once again makes its "Haunt" appearance.
