My hands trembledMy pulse raced
As I read the letters
Words written
sweet and loving
a new romance blooming
I could not understand
My mind swirled
Shock engulfed me
that secret part of you
hidden from me
that you never show
secrets revealed
promises made
souls bared
they became my obsession
the letters
my eyes scanned words of desire that spoke of passion
kisses, flowers, songs of birds taking flight
I held them in my hand
I gripped them tight
the letters
they became my obsession
Passion and lust
filled the pages
I read every line
they took my breath away
I analyzed every last word
My eyes were a blur
tears flowed my eyes until I could not
see
My mind filled with wonder
of why you wrote
them to her
and not to me
