They're the biggest names in music, but some of the shortest height wise
Billy Idol - 5' 9"
Idol's real name is William Michael Albert Broad. This punk rocker just misses average height by an inch.
Known for platinum blonde hair and eternal smirk, he burst onto the scene in the 80's with hits Dancing With Myself and the creepy wedding anthem White Wedding. I was lucky enough to catch Idol live in concert just as those mega hits broke. It was an unforgettable show. Adam Sandler's comic, nuptial film The Wedding Singer featured Billy Idol playing himself. He proved he had acting chops along with his musical talent.
Ringo Starr - 5'8"
Ringo is the funny one with the big nose. He's also the shortest member of the fab four known as The Beatles.
As drummer of the most famous rock band of all time, Ringo kept the beat of the band and also merrily marched to the beat of his own quirky drum. Aside from achieving rock music history, he's appeared in everything from comedy films as a caveman, to an episode of The Simpsons to the PBS children's show "Shining Time Station" as the tiny train conductor.
Roger Daltrey - 5'7
Who are you? Roger Daltrey that's who - lead singer of British rock legends The Who. Daltrey boasts one of the a biggest voices in music, but he's only 5'7.
Daltrey may be one of the most active film and TV actor rock musicians of all time. He boasts an impressive resume of movies and television shows. His first film role was the lead in his band's rock opera Tommy released in 1975.
Billie Joe Armstrong - 5'7
Billie Joe Armstrong heads up punk influenced rock group Green Day out of California. Billie sings big, but at 5'7, he's a rock shorty.
Green Day has sold over 60 million records worldwide and scored three Grammy Awards, Best Alternative Album for Dookie, Best Rock Album for American Idiot, and Record of the Year for "Boulevard of Broken Dreams."
Flea - 5'6
Hyper bass guitarist Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers is the smallest musician listed here.
