Are you planning a children's party for Halloween? Do you want some great ideas for games? Does the thought of 20 different children sticking their heads in the same vat of water to bob for apples make you gag? If any of these statements ring true, read on for some fun activities.

Holiday themes for traditional games:Almost any game can be themed to a holiday like Halloween. For a party classic, start off with "Pin the Nose on the Jack-O-Lantern". Just make a large Jack-O-Lantern picture on a piece of paper or poster board. Do not draw a nose. Cut out several black triangles and let each child try to attach a nose while blindfolded. For something a bit more active, try "Ghost Bowling". Make the ghosts by placing a white napkin or paper towel over an empty plastic bottle. A one liter size works well. Secure the napkin with a rubber band and draw on some eyes. Set up 10 ghosts and have children roll a white ball with skull features drawn on it to knock down the ghosts. Even the littlest childen can play "Pirate's Treasure". Hide several fake coins in a wading pool or large tub filled with sand. Give kids sandbox shovels to dig for treasure. When they find a coin, they can trade it for a prize in your prize box. An alternative is to hide kiddie jewels directly in the sand.
