Walk in to any grocery store and you will see at least ten different types of gum that claim to whiten teeth, help prevent tooth decay and freshen your breath. The blister packs often contain eight to twelve pieces of minty goodness priced at around $1.29 a pack. Trident is one of leaders in this type of gum so when I saw the Cool Rush flavor on sale for .50 cents I had to get a couple packs to try it out.

I smoke, drink an obscene amount of coffee and tea and consume massive amounts of garlic. I am never without some type of breath freshener or mint and if I can find something that will help whiten my smile or prevent cavities, that's even better. Trident White Cool Rush claims to have a 2-Way Whitening Power; simply put, it whitens teeth and prevents new stains from happening. How long until you see these results? Don't expect to wake up the next morning and blind yourself when you smile at yourself in the mirror, it can take four weeks or more to see any results.

The blister packs contain twelve pieces and are usually priced at $1.19 at my local grocery store, they were on sale for .50 cents a pack and I do intend on grabbing more of them when I go back. The taste is bold and strong and it does knock out even the strongest cases of bad breath. Trident suggests that you chew two pieces at a time but I usually go with one. This is not a low calorie food; each serving of two pieces has five calories and contains two grams of carbohydrates.

Trident White Cool Rush contains Recaldent (ACC-CPP also known as amorphous calcium phosphate-casein phosphopeptides); a casein derivative found in milk. Why is it added to the gum? It is a lactose free ingredient that helps to strengthen teeth, promote healthy gums and can help to prevent cavities. That doesn't mean that you can use this to replace brushing your teeth, just that it can help when brushing isn't an option.
