Weddings R Us Made Our Ceremony Cheap and Easy

Weddings can be very stressful to plan and organize. I have seen many friends go half-crazy planning their elaborate weddings. Some people have no desire to have a huge event honoring themselves and spend a bunch of money. Luckily, there are other options, even in Columbus, Ohio. I am one of those people who did not want to plan a big event. I wanted simplicity and ease and that is what I got, thanks to Weddings R Us.

My husband and I got married September 19, 2007. We wanted a very small, very easy ceremony. We were thinking the courthouse, but that seemed so legal and dry. I found Weddings R Us while looking on-line for chapels and it seemed perfect for us. For $50 you can have a small ceremony with 6 or less guests in a cute chapel. It is walk-in only Mon-Thur 10am-5:45pm. There are Friday and Saturday hours, as well as formal chapels that accommodate up to 60 guests. Wedding dresses are available for rental and rings, veils and bouquets are for sale. Professional photography is offered as well. Prices vary for these larger packages, but they are more reasonable than most facilities. There are four chapels to choose from on-site. The website has photos of couples married there, as well as photos of the different chapels. Also, the dresses and rings can be previewed on-line. Planning ahead with the web-site is very easy.

We went with the basic $50 walk-in deal. My husband's mother, father and step-mother attended, as well as my mother. My father was supposed to attend, but ended up in the ER, but that is a different article altogether. The entire process took 10-15 minutes. The ceremony was short and sweet. It was performed by the Rev. Vicki A. Bennett D.D., who has a sense of humor and a happy attitude. The standard ceremony is very basic and not very religious, which is what we were looking for. After the ceremony we were given time to take photographs and she took one as well, to place on her website. We did not rent or purchase any items while we were there. We brought our own rings and dressed casually. Just be sure to go prepared with your marriage license.
