This coral is quite interesting because it's a hard coral which looks like a soft coral. Sometimes I get this coral mistaken with an anemone because they look very similar. This coral has very thin tentacles which will help you tell the difference between it and the anemone. This coral will need to be placed in the bottom or middle sections of your fish tank. It will require a good amount of water movement so you will want to adjust your power head to shoot water in the direction of the Pom Pom coral.
If you want to keep this coral alive and well you will need to keep the salinity around 1.023 to 1.026. You will need to purchase a hydrometer so that you can check the salinity in your tank frequently. You will also want to keep the temperature at around 72 to 78 degrees. You will need to purchase a heater to make sure that the water doesn't get too cold. Coral doesn't do good in water that is under 72 degrees and it will not survive in water that is over 78 degrees as well. You will need to make sure that the fish tank is not located next to windows or heating vents. Set up your light on a timer and leave the light on for around 6 or 7 hours per day. This will make sure that algae doesn't form and start to cover your Pom Pom Coral.
