"It can't be done." Nothing jerks my cord quicker than someone making that kind of a sweeping statement. What has this got to do with health? Nothing, and everything.

We can choose to go through life believing it can't be done while others are doing it, whatever it is. It's the old "glass half full or glass half empty" scenario. If there is one person who believes it can be done there will be dozens who believe it can't, and they'll try to bring the believer down to their non-believing level. Maybe they don't like wallowing alone.

Sometimes we can believe so strongly that nothing can be done, concerning situations we've created in our life, that we get stuck in our belief systems, and those beliefs then become who we are. When we go through life not allowing ourselves to admit that we are the creators of all that happens to us, we can remain the perpetual victims. If we choose to grovel in the pit we've chosen for our life, we can see everything that falls outside of our comfort zone as something that can't be done. Many people live in a world of right or wrong, if someone else is right, then they believe they must be wrong, and vice versa.

Those of us who were around during the space race, remember when the first man set foot on the moon. Before that time there were those who said it couldn't be done. After it was done a large percentage of the detractors said it was all a fake and had been produced in Hollywood (or somewhere with many special effects). A lot of people get caught in their own BS: belief systems). Since that time, humans have spent months and years in space stations orbiting the Earth, unmanned missions have gone to Mars and sent back pictures that a semi-professional backyard photographer would be proud of, and all of it has been documented as fact. A lot of attempts fail, but that's generally the case when anything new is tried.

Great article, you just said many true things about the believer and dis-believer.
