Whilst researching my self-help book, Aromatherapy & Herbalism - The complete home user's guide, which is a non fiction A To Z of cures and self help treatments from acne, asthma, anxiety, burns, colitis, depression, fears, guilt, phobias, flu, arthritis etc., Here are a few superstitions I would like to share with you with regard to your bridesmaid, matron of honor and best man:

We can go back to the origins of a bridesmaid and best man which was simply to protect the bride from being kidnapped on the date of her wedding or prior to the event by the grooms rivals.

* If the bridesmaid catches the bride's boquet she is destined to marry within a year
* If the bridesmaid walks up the ailse thrice (e.g, she is a bridesmaid three times) she is destined to be a spinster
* Likewise, if the bridesmaid trips on the way up the ailse she will spend a life alone
* If a matron of honor pricks herself with a pin on the day of the wedding she too is destined to be a spinster
* Lucky colors for bridesmaid or matron of honor's are pink, yellow and blue.

* If the bestman is drunk on the morning of the wedding it is a very bad omen
* If the bestman trips on the way up the isle he is destined to roam to different beds even thought married
* If the best man has the "evil eye" (crossed eyes) this is highly unlucky for the couple to be married
* The best man should always carry a silver coin on his person and hand it to the first person into the church as a gesture for happiness
* The best man should throw rice or confetti over the newly wed couple to promote their chances of having healthy children

The bride must alwas give her garter to the best man and the groom must always give a gift to her bridesmaid or matron of honor

ENJOY!
