If you are thinking about visiting Maui but are unsure if that should be your Hawaiian island of choice then this article is for you. There are approximately 130 islands that make up Hawaii and Maui is the 2nd largest island. Maui is known to many as the Valley Isle. From one end of the island to the other Maui is an island of paradise.

If you want to see the best of what Maui has to offer as far as scenery and not have to spend much money at all then taking a trip on the road to Hanna is a must visit. In just a one day trip that will take about eight hours in order to enjoy all of it's beauty. You can see more beauty then one could ever hope to see in a life time. When I was there the cost of the trip was a car rental for about fifty dollars, gas money for about twenty dollars, a ten dollar cd, a small donation to the Garden of Eden, and food. The approximate total would be about $120 dollars for a family of four. The way this trip works is you purchase a cd that gives you information about many places on this road. It will have you stop at many mile markers, but every stop is worth the time.

Now you are wondering what will I see on this day long adventure. To start you are traveling through a tropical rain forest. You will see numerous water falls, some of which you can actually dive of cliffs and swim in the water. There is the black sand beach which is unlike any beach that I had ever seen. The beach has black sand until you get to the water. When you are standing in the water you are actually standing on marble like stones that do hurt so wear some type of water shoes if you plan on going for a swim. The waves there are great for surfing. Now for a secret that not many people know when you first walk down to the beach to the right there is a small cave. If it is low tide you can squeeze your way through and see a cave that was carved by the mighty waves. When you are standing there not only can you appreciate the beauty of the water but you can see what looks like the cut out of a dog which is what the opening on the other side looks like.
