If you've ever wondered what a MySpace tracker really does or if they really work - this FAQ is for you!

What is a MySpace tracker?

In the simplest terms, a MySpace tracker is simply a snippet of code that is inserted into a section of your MySpace profile that tracks other MySpace users who view your profile.

Why do I need a MySpace tracker?

Nobody really needs a MySpace tracker. But since MySpace doesn't currently have this feature built into their site, it creates a demand for those curious MySpace users who want to know exactly who is viewing their profile. If you've ever wondered if your ex still views your MySpace profile on a daily basis, or which of your old high school friends have checked out your Myspace profile - a MySpace tracker is a great way to get that information.

What kind of information will I be able to view if I use a MySpace tracker?

That depends on the kind of MySpace tracker you use. Some MySpace trackers display a user photo and the number of times that MySpace user viewed your Myspace profile. Other Myspace trackers will only track the IP addresses or even as little information as the # of times your MySpace profile was viewed (much like a profile counter).

Where can I sign-up for a MySpace tracker?

You can visit any MySpace tracker site to register for an account. Check out my article 'Where to Find Free MySpace Trackers' for a few sites to get you started or just do a quick Google search for Myspace trackers. Once you've found a MySpace tracker site that you like, simply copy and paste the snippet of code they provide you with into your MySpace profile. Be sure to follow the directions the site offers.

I've installed a MySpace tracker onto my profile, but it's not working!

This is actually more common that you think and there are several reasons for this:

1. MySpace trackers are against MySpace's terms of service and privacy policy. This is why trackers often quite working after they've been installed, because MySpace will block them.
