I hereby present to you, the inaugural issue of Associated Content's Sportswriters, Experts and Clowns. The concept is simple; several of the biggest sports stories are discussed amongst a group of AC's sports addicts. The writers will present their answers to each of the questions. Think of Around The Horn, ESPN's daily sports debate show. Only, there is no Tony Reali to judge and decide who won the debate. That's where you, the readers, come in. After reading the article pick you thought did the best job for each topic. Post your pick in the comments section and the winner will be declared in the next go round. The best combination of arguing well and presenting an idea that you agree with should be voted for.

Before we start with the debates, let's introduce our highly decorated AC Sportswriter panel. (Click on the writer's name to go to their profile).

Jake Emen - Jake is fairly new to the AC scene. He signed up for the site a year and a half ago, and then forgot about it until this June. Oops. His passion - and one of his hobbies - is boxing, so if you don't agree with him, prepare to defend yourself.

Brian Joura - Brian Joura believes that opinions are like noses in that everyone has one and most are nothing special. However, his opinions are a combination of the schnozzes of Joe Torre and Rudolph the Reindeer. They're larger than life and help cut through the fog.

Nick Meyer - Nick Meyer has written for several sports and news publications and gets a ton of different checks each month from a ton of different places yet still somehow remains broke. The 24 year-old Michigan fan and graduate lives at home and would love to get a full-time job in sports writing sometime soon. But at this rate, he will probably get one around the time the Lions win their next Super Bowl, at least in his home state, which has arguably the worst economy in the nation. He also wants a shameless plug to his AC Sports Mailbag, if you have any questions for that, email him at NickMeyer777@hotmail.com.

After reading the second installment first, Jake and Nick are starting to separate themselves. Marino over Montana ??? Brian & Zac are clowns on that one.

Don't play to the dumbest members of the audience. Make the responses as long as they need to be. If it's good people will read it. If someone is going to skim an article they will do it if it's 1 page or if it's 4 pages. Strive for quality and let the audience find you. And whatever you do - don't let Mark Tuff join your panel.

Great concept guys, but the responses have to be shorter. No offense or anything, but people have short attention spans listening to guys like Paige and Bayless, let alone a some guys they've never heard of. Keep it more succinct and you might build an audience here, then expand it. And if you need another participant, gimme a hollar.
