Maggie Williams would like to share some information with anyone who wants to hear it. As an actor on stage and television for some time, she has some experience, and she's bringing this experience to the Drama Book Shop in Manhattan next week.

While many people will posit that theatre people in general are just snooty there is something to be said for the language of theatre and for actors in specific. While many who were once actors in the theatre move on to other areas of the performing arts, there is no mistake that the language has remained essentially the same for years and years. Uta Hagen, Constantin Stanislavski, Lee Strasberg, Sanford Meisner all taught many of these forms and while they've invented some of this language, there is a collective shared experience from which all of this language is drawn and there is some language which has just always been.

Enter Maggie Lloyd-Williams and Marina Caldarone; two acting professionals who have long done a great deal of service for the art form who want to try and make this language accessible to anyone who has the text. Caldarone has been involved in actor training in many schools for the last two decades but it is Williams who will be showcasing the new text at the Drama Book Shop in New York City, this coming October 10, 2007.

According to her books biography, Ms. Williams has been an actor for stage and television including the Royal National Theatre as well as the renowned Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. The discussion and workshop will be free of charge and will happen on Wednesday, October 10 at 6PM at the Drama Book Shop, 250 W 40th St, New York, NY 10018. It isn't often that any of the secrets in the treasure trove that is the acting world are opened up for general discussion but Ms. Williams and Ms. Caldrone's new book, "Actions: The Actor's Thesaurus," is hailed as essential for actors in rehearsal and essentially gets everyone who is in the know and everyone who is an outsider and wants to know on the same page.
