This is the second part of this article, consisting of analysis of the NBA drafts from the years 2000-2004.  Part One dealt with the NBA drafts from 1995-1999.

Part 2

2000 Draft
: The worst draft in terms of talent and contributors to the NBA in the past ten years.  The best player to come out of this draft was taken at 43rd overall (Michael Redd), and besides Redd, no player is more than an average NBA contributor.  Top pick Kenyon Martin broke his leg at the end of his collegiate season and still went number one overall.  Jason Kidd made him look better than he was on
New Jersey
, but Martin did net
New Jersey
three number one picks when they traded him to the Nuggets.  Injury prone and in the coach’s doghouse, Martin makes the max money, and has produced 14.9PPG and 7.4RPG over his career, and has never played more than 77 games in a season.  Potential describes picks two and three.  Stromile Swift and Darius Miles were both big man projects, and neither has come of age.  Swift signed a free agent deal with the Rockets this past season, and averaged 9PPG and 4.4RPG.  Swift is only 26 years old, which is the only hope left for the big man.  At only 24 Darius Miles can blame youth for his overall lack of production.  Drafted by the Clippers, traded to the Cavs and is now on
Portland
, Miles has a lot of talent but little actual skill.
