Bigfoot Prowls in the Midwest!

Those living in the Midwest who think they are safe from Bigfoot are mistaken. Hairy Bipeds are apelike creatures similar to "Bigfoot." There have been thousands of sightings of these creatures in the Pacific Northwest, but none have been scientifically verified. When people think of Bigfoot creatures, which appear to be half man and half ape, they often think of them carousing around in the wooded areas of British Columbia or Washington state. But Bigfoot, or Hairy Bipeds are all over the Midwest.

There have been many sightings of such a creature throughout the Midwest since the 1950s. While the sightings have extended all over the rural Midwest areas, most of them have taken place in Michigan. In fact, there have been over 38 individual sightings of such a creature in Tuscola County, Michigan, alone.

One of the most infamous sightings occurred in Monroe, Michigan in 1965 and made several local newspapers. Seventeen year old Christine Van Acker and her mother were driving on a dark country road on August 11, 1965 when a giant, hairy man who appeared to be at least seven feet tall and completely covered with black hair, stepped out in front of their car. The girl hit the brakes, causing the car to stall. As she frantically tried to restart the engine, the creature reached into the car with a long, hairy arm and hit her in the eye, giving her bruise. The girl and her mother managed to escape and went to the local police where they told their horrifying story. The next day, newspapers carried a photo of Christine Van Acker's black eye and a harrowing tale of her account.

In 1992, two unnamed men reported seeing two creatures on the same road as Christine Van Acker and her mother did 27 years earlier. One of the creatures was described as being from seven to eight feet tall and the other was five feet tall. Both were completely covered with hair and they both began moving towards the car and the horrified men. As the men pulled away, one of the creatures was still moving slowly towards the car. The men reported the incident, but would not give their names as they didn't want to be labeled as "crackpots."
