The Ugandan First Lady Mrs. Janet Museveni was completely unknown until her husband Yoweri Museveni took over the realms of power in Uganda in 1986. She is a cool spoken person, who drives her points slowly for the best effects to the listener. She is tall and beautiful and cuts a motherly appearance to the nation.

Her state involvement came almost immediately when she championed the cause for orphans in this country. The long guerrilla war in the Luwero Triangle did not only see many dead Ugandans both in battle and in cross fire, but it also generated so many orphans that the new government had to handle as a social problem. Here is where Mrs. Museveni came in and formed Uganda Women's Effort to Save Orphans (UWESO) She steered it as National Body for all these years and considerable improvement in the lives of Orphans can be seen today with all credits accruing to her. She is driven by the believe that children are future Ugandans and they should be made to live and grow for the sake of the country.

Many Ugandans believe she has a moderating influence on her Husband whose radical views and intolerance to other opinions could otherwise, have led this country to the deep waters in many frontiers of governance. Her fear of God has tended to brush off on the President's sensibilities and it is largely on this account that we have been able to see her lead her husband by the hand to Night prayers and born again Churches to worship with the people.

She has been in the fore front of promoting abstinence among the youth as a move to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS in the country. She has accordingly organized many youth fora and conferences to instill in our young people the value of staying alive in a country that has high infection rates of the disease that puts many young people at risk.

Great info. From what you have said, maybe we can import her to the USA, because we could sure use a great lady at the helm.
