The Dark Knight is the sequel to Batman Begins. Chirstopher Nolan, who also directed Batman Begins will be directing this Batman movie, the second in the resurrected franchise. Christian Bale takes on the role of the Dark Knight for a second time.

According to co-star Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, who we already know is going to play The Joker, goes for "terrifying," not like the sarcastic portrayal by Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton's Batman.
Michael Caine said, "He is going to surprise a lot of people. He is absolutely terrifying.I'd say that he is the scariest thing I've ever seen on screen."
