Knitting and crocheting are fun hobbies widely popular with many teens today. If you are shopping for ideas for an enthusiast, here are knit and crochet related gifts that teenagers should enjoy.

Vintage Knit and Crochet Pattern Books
For a unique one-of-a-kind gift, give the young needle worker one or several vintage pattern books. These are readily available at online auctions. Look for knit and crocheting categories under their crafts sections. These leaflets usually are under 20 pages or so, and date from the 1940s - 70s. Vintage pattern books are available for knitting and crochet clothing, fashion accessories, linens, toys, novelties and more.

Another idea is to remove the cover from a couple pattern leaflets and frame them, to give along with the contents. These vintage booklets have charming covers illustrating crochet and knit fashions or other items. Many have several pages of color or black and white illustrations within the books, which are also suitable for framing.

Vintage Knit and Crochet Clothing
A gift that many teen needle workers should like is a piece of vintage clothing or fashion accessory. These may be knitted or crocheted entirely, or trimmed with the same. Shop online websites and auctions selling vintage clothing or antiques and collectibles for a good selection. You might also find something of interest at local shops. Examples of possible finds you might give include vintage crochet and knit sweaters, blouses, skirts, vests, ties, scarves, gloves, slippers, hats, and belts.

Bead Knitting and Crochet Book
Teen knit and crochet enthusiasts probably already have a few basic instruction books and modern patterns. For a welcome gift, consider a book on the decorative techniques of knitting and crocheting, or embellishing with beads. You could give a small collection of special beads along with the instruction book, or a basic beading starter kit.
