For some of you if you are old enough you may remember what happened on August 5th 1962. If you don't remember or just don't happen to know, it was the day that actress Marilyn Monroe was found dead in her home. Marilyn Monroe was a Hollywood actress who was and is still best known for her film "The Seven Year Itch". Marilyn Monroe has been dead for over 4 decades, but she remains a top selling icon to this day.

Speculation surrounding the death of Marilyn Monroe varies on opinion. Some believe that Marilyn Monroe was murdered while a majority of others believe it was suicide or accidental overdose. It remains a mystery that may never be solved.

What most people do know about Marilyn Monroe was she was a beautiful actress that always seemed happy when in public view. Those that knew Marilyn remembered another side of her that was very sad and lonely. She was also well known for her affair with President John F. Kennedy. Marilyn Monroe had many intimate relationships that all failed. She was a joke to fellow movie actors and was never taken seriously by the public. She was the main focus of the paparazzi and the media as well.

What you may not know about Marilyn Monroe was that she suffered from Bipolar disorder. Many psychiatrists speculated that the non treatment of her bipolar symptoms is what ultimately led to the starlet's untimely death. It's not that Marilyn Monroe wouldn't except treatment for her disorder, is that it wasn't available back then. Had there been treatment, Marilyn Monroe might still be alive today. Marilyn Monroe died at the age of 36.

I hope, for Britney's sake, SOMEONE who is close to her and claims to be so worried about her will beg the woman to get help. Many famous people -- from Dick Cavett to Brian Wilson to Patty Duke -- have openly admitted that they have bipolar disorder and have received successful treatment. But, ultimately, whether she'll be alive this time next year will depend on HER, because she's the only person who can start the ball rolling toward successful treatment -- or continue it rolling down the destructive path it's heading in now.
