The performance of this cooker can be compared to the Kuhn Rikon model that is four times expensive. Since I have used both these models the only thing that needs an improvement in the Presto 01362 Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker is the gravity controlled pressure or steam protection system. I wish it had something like built in springs to regulate the steam pressure with precision. This would reduce the noise also. Moreover the 6 quart capacity is just enough for a normal family and it is not sufficient for large scale canning.
There is probably no other cooker in the market with such efficiency under this price range. The body is made of high quality stainless steel that makes it durable. This is powerfully built to withstand high range of temperature and pressure without any shocks. Unlike aluminum stainless steel does not react with acids and hence it can be used for cooking anything. This also has a sheen and polished look that does not easily fade even after repeated washing. The heat is evenly distributed and it cooks food faster. Though the makers claim that it takes only one sixth to one tenth times of the conventional cookers, they are not taking into consideration the time required to heat up and cool the utensil.
