smooth and fluid always
running - flowing into
another body. He is a
friend, lover, son, father -
full of motion.
Like Christ she can walk on him.
Steady she balances her limbs -
a long stride with firm agility.
He waivers, becomes restless
I reach out but cannot touch him.
From the deep I struggle -
try to hold my breath a little longer.
He is Poseidon commanding all
with his powerful trident.
But she cannot be subdued.
Though he rides upon Leviathan
and bid the mighty oaks to bow
his thunderous voice is silenced
by the softness of her lips.
A single touch quiets the waves
as water quickly turns to ice.
