"Imagine, a September 11 with weapons of mass destruction. It's not 3,000. It's tens of thousands of innocent men, women and children." Donald Rumsfeld, former Sec. of Defense, and the man most responsible for devising the strategy to invade Iraq, topple Saddam, and initiate the post-war activities. (Also the man who would have been most responsible for conceiving an exit strategy had such a thing ever been part of the invasion plans in the first place.)

"It's hard to conceive that it would take more forces to provide stability in post-Saddam Iraq than it would take to conduct the war itself and to secure the surrender of Saddam's security forces and his army. Hard to imagine." Former Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz.

"It's a slam-dunk case!" Former CIA Director George Tenet, when Pres. Bush looked at the paltry evidence contained within the highest level CIA report devised to make a case for invading Iraq and asked if that was the full extent of the evidence Tenet expected him to take before the world.

"What I am saying is it's an extremely complex judgment to know whether the course that we chose with its pros and cons was more sensible." Douglas Feith, former Undersecretary of Defense for Policy and the man that General Tommy Franks once described as the stupidest guy on the face of the earth. (And aren't you glad that your President thought such a person was qualified to lead your sons and daughters and mothers and fathers into a war he himself is unwilling to fight.)

"A year from now, I'll be very surprised if there is not some grand square in Baghdad that is named after President Bush." Richard Perle. Former Chairman of the Defense Policy Board.

Ice Shard, liberating a people would be nice. Who did you have in mind? Because whatever is happening in Iraq is hardly liberation. Nor was it ever intended, honestly.

Mr. Canaday's comments are filled with broad strokes and generalization...another tired example of the "sheep-speak" which spews from White House minions and other desperados. His version is not spoken with finesse or eloquence though as evidenced by his use of "Oooh". I've never been able to learn "sheep-speak"...I suppose I'm just to damned independent, and I prefer hanging with free-thinkers anyway. Great article Tim. *****

It's been a long time since the people making war were the ones fighting it.

WMD have never been proven. But plenty of GOP military subcointractors have gottne rich. Just go through the Bush family social guest lists for the past 50 years. You'll see some familiar names.

Watch it Marquis. That statement verges on slanderous. Not to mention idiotic: Why would I risk my life fighting for a cause I know is wrong? On the other hand, Bush and company have spent their entire lives getting out of putting their lives on the line for causes they believe in.

Oooh, and write an article on why the American military would rather vote REPUBLICAN than democrat. I have one guess...because liberals and democrats do not like America or its way of life. In addition to that, its laws. The American military does not mind fighting wars...that is why they train.

Yeah, and liberals like you are too cowardly to fight it too. I would rather have people that are loyal to America from the Bush administration than anti American, pro terrorist losers on the left.
